Emily

Play Slideshow

Emily, a 6-7 month-old puppy, was hit by a car in front of a factory in Popesti. She suffered for 4 days with an open wound on her front leg and broken hip. Carmen, from "The Nature-a Heritage for the Future" Association, rescued Emily and brought her to a vet, who cleaned cement and dirt from the wound, operated on her hip and pinned her leg. The leg is now healing, and Emily is now wanting to play!

World Woof Tour: Sibiu

"My travels took me North into the Romanian heartland, and I managed to catch up with a sterilization blitz that takes place in Sibiu twice a year. Romania Animal Rescue (RAR) organizes this event on behalf of Animal Life Sibiu. Dr Daniel Gheoca heads up the operation alongside Stefan Aurelian and the pair sterilized more than 65 dogs on the day that I popped in! Yap about dedication. I didn't stick around too long in case they removed my balls--AGAIN!

"It's definitely worth saluting Livia Brenner from Romania Animal Rescue Fund too. She escorted me through my view of Romania, and she's playing an integral part to change the perception of shelter dogs by taking puppies off the street, photographing them and making the public look twice at these 'Lords of the Street'. She's also working at giving these street dogs a title--something like 'Keine'. You can check out some of her images in the image gallery below."

The dog was living on the streets in Sibiu, and there was a German family that spotted her. They really liked her. One day, she disappeared, and the German family was concerned as to her whereabouts. They were told that the Animal Life people had picked up the female dog and took her to the RAR Spayathon.

The father of the family went to the Spayathon and met with Dr. Aurelian Stefan. He told Dr. Aurelian he would like to adopt the dog. The dog, very pregnant prior to spay/neuter, needed a loving home.

The wonderful German family adopted "Pocha," and took her to Germany. They sent Dr. Aurelian photos of the wonderful addition to their family!
